KUALA LUMPUR (April 14): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has remanded the founder of a famous wellness centre chain on suspicion of misappropriating funds from the company he founded.
The wellness centre’s former managing director Chuah Seong Keat is understood to have been arrested on Friday (April 14) together with former executive director Thuan Chew Boon at the MACC Putrajaya headquarters.
The anti-graft agency had made an application for a remand order on Chuah and Thuan with the Putrajaya magistrate.
Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin issued a remand order against the duo until Monday (April 17).
The case is understood to be involving alleged embezzlement of money through procurement of overpriced massage oil from a company deemed to be a related party.
